The GCC Data Operations Manager is responsible for the leadership and operational management of global data maintenance and data entry teams within the Global Competence Center (Pune, India). This role oversees a large, multi-domain team of Data Maintenance Professionals, Data Analysts, and Data Entry & Validation Administrators to ensure data is maintained accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with global data management standards. As part of the Data Operations leadership team, this role acts as the key interface between the GCC data operations teams and global Master Data Managers (organized per data domain). The manager ensures execution of priorities, drives operational excellence, and fosters team capability building to deliver reliable and timely data services to the business.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a large team of Data Maintenance Professionals and Data Entry & Validation Administrators across multiple data domains.
- Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, career development, and succession planning for the team.
- Ensure optimal team structure, workload balancing, and adherence to service levels and KPIs.
- Oversee day-to-day data operations to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient execution of data maintenance activities.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Master Data Managers across data domains regarding operational execution, priorities, and escalations.
- Facilitate regular alignment meetings with Master Data Managers to review priorities, progress, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure effective handovers and collaboration between the GCC team and other data management functions (e.g., Data Quality Analysts, Data Stewards).
Performance Management
- Set clear performance objectives for team leads and team members, monitor progress, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Identify high performers and development needs within the team to build a strong talent pipeline.
Process Optimization & Quality Management
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows, increase data quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure data maintenance processes align with data governance policies, standards, and quality expectations.
People Development & Capability Building
- Develop the skills and capabilities of the team through training, coaching, and
mentoring.
- Promote knowledge sharing and cross-domain learning within the GCC data teams to build flexibility and resilience.
Partnering in Data Management Leadership
- Contribute to the broader Data Management strategy as part of the leadership team.
- Provide input on operational feasibility of strategic initiatives and support
implementation of global data management programs within the GCC.
Budget & Resource Management
- Monitor and manage operational budgets for the GCC data teams.
- Optimize resource utilization to ensure efficient delivery of services within financial parameters.

Qualifications
- Master degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
- [5+] years of experience in data management, data operations, or master data
management roles, with a strong focus on operational execution.
- [3+] years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, directly managing large teams, preferably in a shared service or competence center environment.
- Proven experience in process optimization, workflow design, and implementing operational efficiencies.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and master data management concepts.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
