Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Gastroenterologist role based at the Apex Hospitals facility in Jhunjhunu. The Gastroenterologist will evaluate and manage patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic disorders in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Daily responsibilities include performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, interpreting relevant investigations, and developing individualized treatment plans. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary care, providing pre- and post-procedure counseling, and maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation. The Gastroenterologist will also participate in clinical audits, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support junior medical staff, and uphold institutional protocols and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical foundation in Medicine with board certification or equivalent postgraduate qualification (e.g., DM/DNB in Gastroenterology or equivalent international credentials).
- Advanced clinical expertise in Gastroenterology, including diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal, pancreatic, and hepatobiliary conditions.
- Proficiency in Endoscopy, including upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy; experience with Capsule Endoscopy and related diagnostic procedures is highly desirable.
- Competence in Hepatology, including evaluation and management of acute and chronic liver diseases and coordination of multidisciplinary care for complex cases.
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction and eligibility for registration as a specialist, as applicable.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered and ethical care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to teaching, mentoring, and continuous professional development.
- Prior experience in a tertiary or super-speciality hospital setting and familiarity with evidence-based guidelines and quality standards are preferred.
