About the role
The Fit Technician is responsible for ensuring garments meet LC Waikiki's fit, comfort, and quality standards across all product categories. The role bridges design, pattern, and production by conducting fit evaluations, providing technical feedback, and supporting timely bulk approval while maintaining brand consistency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Fit & Technical Evaluation
- Conduct fit sessions on live models, mannequins, or dress forms for proto, sample, size set, and pre-production stages
- Evaluate garment fit, balance, proportion, comfort, and construction against approved specs
- Identify fit issues and recommend precise pattern corrections and construction improvements
- Ensure consistency of fit across all sizes based on grading standards
Pattern & Measurement Control
- Review and verify measurement charts, tolerance levels, and grading rules
- Collaborate with pattern makers to adjust patterns based on fit feedback
- Ensure size consistency aligns with LC Waikiki brand fit blocks and target customer profile
Fabric & Textile Assessment
- Analyze fabric characteristics (stretch, shrinkage, drape, GSM, recovery) and their impact on fit
- Work closely with textile teams to ensure fabric suitability for intended design and end use
- Advise on fabric behavior during wash, wear, and production
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, QA, and Vendors on fit-related issues
- Communicate clear and actionable fit comments to suppliers and factories
- Participate in technical meetings and production discussions
- Educate supplier Garment Technologist according to LCW Fit & sample approval standard.
Sample & Bulk Approval Support
- Support sample approval processes (Development, Fit, PPS) from fit perspective
- Ensure bulk production aligns with approved fit and measurements
- Assist QA teams in resolving fit-related production issues
Product Risk Assessment & Product Safety
- Conduct product risk assessment in terms of workmanship, fabrication, material perspective
- Conduct product safety risk assessment related to grading, functional trims, LCW product safety policy & provide the call out if any risk is there in LCW product.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate fit comments, measurement records, and approval status
- Update fit logs and technical files in PLM or internal systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to fit and quality
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Technology, or related field
Experience
- 37 years of experience as a Fit Technician, Technical Executive, or similar role
- Experience with woven and knit garments (tops, bottoms, outerwear preferred)
- Exposure to international retail brands is highly preferred
