Lovely Professional University (LPU), Punjab invites applications for the position of Game Development Faculty to strengthen its academic focus on interactive media, real-time 3D production, and game technology education.
We are seeking a passionate educator and industry practitioner with strong expertise in both technical game development and creative game design thinking.
Core Technical Expertise Required
Candidates should demonstrate strong proficiency in:
- Unity / Unreal Engine (preferably both) with hands-on development experience
- Game Design Principles including mechanics, dynamics, balancing, and player experience (UX for games)
- Programming Fundamentals in C# (Unity) or C++ (Unreal Engine)
- Asset Pipeline Management: importing, optimizing, and integrating 2D/3D assets (models, textures, animations, audio)
- Gameplay Systems Development: player controls, AI basics, physics systems, UI/UX integration, and level design workflows
- Understanding of version control systems such as Git or Perforce (preferred)
Desirable Industry / Academic Experience
- Prior experience in game studios, real-time production, simulation, AR/VR, or interactive media development
- Teaching experience in game design, computer graphics, or interactive media programs
- Strong portfolio showcasing game prototypes, shipped projects, or student mentorship outcomes
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as:
- XR (AR/VR/MR)
- AI in games
- Procedural content generation
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured lectures and hands-on lab sessions in game development tools and workflows
- Mentor students in end-to-end game production pipelines, from concept development to playable prototypes
- Guide student teams in capstone projects, game jams, and portfolio development
- Design assignments focused on problem-solving, systems thinking, and interactive storytelling
- Evaluate student work based on technical execution, creativity, and usability
- Encourage experimentation with real-time engines, shaders, physics systems, and interactive narratives
- Stay updated with industry trends, engine advancements, and emerging technologies
