About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Game Designer specializing in board game reasoning and strategy to join our client's innovative team on a full-time basis. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, making it ideal for professionals who are passionate about game mechanics, strategic reasoning, and artificial intelligence. The primary focus of this role is to support the development and evaluation of next-generation AI models by creating high-quality datasets rooted in complex board game scenarios. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in game design, logic, and reasoning to enhance AI capabilities in understanding and solving strategic problems. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, review, and refine reasoning tasks, ensuring the datasets accurately reflect real-world decision-making processes and strategic complexities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, cognitive science, game design, philosophy, economics, or a related analytical field.
• At least two years of professional or semi-professional experience in board game design, playtesting, or involvement in tabletop game communities with a focus on strategy-based games.
• Strong understanding of logic, probabilistic reasoning, game mechanics, and complex rule systems.
• Background knowledge in game theory, behavioral economics, decision science, or formal logic.
• Excellent written communication skills for documenting evaluation results, creating guidelines, and providing clear feedback.
• Ability to analyze and interpret AI responses, identify logical errors, and contribute to benchmarking efforts.
  
  

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at improving AI reasoning through strategic game scenarios, including:

• Creating and reviewing game-based reasoning tasks designed to evaluate AI systems decision-making and strategic capabilities.
• Analyzing complex board game scenarios, decision trees, and rule-based systems to develop comprehensive datasets for AI training and evaluation.
• Assessing AI-generated responses for accuracy, logical consistency, and reasoning quality, providing detailed feedback for iterative improvement.
• Developing prompts, rubrics, and evaluation guidelines tailored to board game and strategy-focused tasks to standardize assessments.
• Identifying logical inconsistencies, rule violations, or flawed reasoning in AI outputs, and contributing to the creation of benchmark datasets to measure progress.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance dataset quality, improve evaluation methodologies, and refine AI benchmarking standards.
