Job Description Safety Engineer (Functional Safety)
Role Summary
The Safety Managers ensures that systems, hardware, software and HMI comply with applicable functional safety standards and are free from unreasonable risk throughout the product lifecycle.
The role requires the ability to independently drive, coordinate, and contribute to safety activities across multidisciplinary teams and regulated industries.
Total Years of Experience: - 7-10
Key Responsibilities
Perform Hazard Analysis & Risk Assessment (HARA, FMEA, FTA, FHA, PHA as applicable)
Develop Functional and Technical Safety Concepts
Derive and manage system, hardware, and software safety requirements
Derive the system and software safety architecture
Address product-related safety and misuse risks
Support verification, validation, and fault-injection testing
Maintain safety documentation, traceability, and safety cases
Support audits, reviews, and supplier safety assessments
Collaborate with system, HW, SW, HMI, and test teams
Act as the functional safety focal point for projects and stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
Knowledge of ISO 26262 / ISO 19014/ ISO 13849
Experience with embedded MCU-based systems
Strong understanding of safety mechanisms and diagnostics for sensors, actuators and Mcu
Familiarity with requirements and safety analysis tools
Good analytical and communication skills
Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (EE, ECE, CS, Mechanical, Mechatronics)
Preferred
TV / Functional Safety certification
Experience in at least one Industry like Auto,Aero, Rail, Medical and Automotive.
Knowledge of CAN, diagnostics, and EMC-related safety topics
