Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Furniture & Home Dcor Designer at Taruvaa's Jaipur studio.

The designer will conceptualize and develop new furniture piecesincluding chairs, benches, tables, accent furniture, and carved or upholstered productsalong with complementary dcor items.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing furniture with a balance of functionality, craftsmanship, and aesthetics
  • Creating detailed sketches, CAD drawings, 3D models, and production-ready specifications
  • Textile and fabric rendering for upholstery, pattern application, and material visualization
  • Developing prototypes in coordination with artisans, carpenters, metalworkers, and upholstery teams
  • Researching trends, materials, motifs, and construction methods
  • Maintaining strict alignment with Taruvaa's brand identity, quality standards, and heritage-driven design language
Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Furniture Design, joinery understanding, material knowledge (wood, metal, upholstery), and functional product development
  • Proficiency in textile rendering / fabric rendering, surface visualization, and upholstery pattern application
  • Experience in Interior Product Design and ability to create collections that pair furniture with home dcor
  • Ability to work closely with artisans and production units, understanding traditional craft techniques and constraints
  • Proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhino, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail, aesthetics, proportion, and finishing
  • Degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Lifestyle Accessory Design, Interior Design, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience in handcrafted furniture, artisanal production, or luxury dcor brands is preferred
