Furniture Designer

At Spacewood, we are not simply looking for candidates who are expected to be self-motivated and figure everything out on their own.

We believe good designers can be developed through exposure, mentorship, industry knowledge, creative thinking and hands-on experience.

You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced design professionals, including NID alumni, while being exposed to a structured design process shaped by real-world industry requirements.

This role is about developing an industry-ready designer—someone who understands that design goes beyond aesthetics and works across the entire product ecosystem.

• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) — Understanding materials, manufacturing processes, engineering, assembly, quality, cost and scalability.
• Design for the Consumer — Understanding user needs, ergonomics, lifestyle, functionality, preferences and expectations.
• Design for India — Understanding Indian homes, spaces, lifestyles, cultural context, consumer behavior, market realities and affordability.
• Design for Business — Balancing creativity with commercial viability, product positioning, cost and production requirements.

Being based in Nagpur, within one of India's established modular furniture manufacturing ecosystems, gives you the opportunity to experience the complete product journey—from concept and sketch to engineering, prototyping, manufacturing and the final product.
