Furniture CAD Design job involves creating detailed 2D/3D drawings, models, and technical blueprints for furniture using software (AutoCAD, SketchUp) to bring concepts to production, collaborating with teams (production, sales, clients) on materials, costs, and trends, ensuring designs are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and manufacturable, while managing projects from idea to completion, focusing on quality, safety, and innovation.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Development: Conceptualize and develop furniture collections (tables, chairs, cabinets) from ideas, sketches, or client briefs, focusing on function, aesthetics, and market trends.Technical Drawing: Create precise 2D/3D CAD drawings, models, and technical specifications for manufacturing, including dimensions, materials, and assembly details.Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineers, marketing, and sales teams to ensure designs meet quality, cost, and timeline goals.Material & Prototyping: Select suitable materials (wood, metal, textiles) and assist in building/testing prototypes to resolve issues.Trend Research: Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and manufacturing techniques. Essential Skills & QualificationsProficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks).Strong understanding of furniture construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.Creativity, problem-solving, and attention to detail.Good communication and teamwork skills.
