Our mission is to bridge the accessibility gap by providing quality educational resources, technology training, and livelihood opportunities to visually impaired students, helping them lead independent and successful lives.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, result-oriented, and passionate Fundraising Manager to head our resource mobilisation efforts in Mumbai. As the founding member of the Mumbai fundraising team, you will be responsible for building the city's funding pipeline from scratch. You will strategically target private donations, government grants, and corporate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds, while designing high-impact online and offline fundraising campaigns to support our projects for blind students.
Key Responsibilities
1. CSR & Corporate Partnerships
- Identify, research, and pitch to corporate houses, conglomerates, and businesses in Mumbai to secure CSR funds.
- Draft highly compelling, customised CSR project proposals, presentations, and budgets tailored to corporate focus areas (Education, Disability, and Inclusion).
- Manage end-to-end corporate donor relations, including timely impact reporting, employee engagement volunteering, and compliance documentation.
2. Government Grants & Institutional Funding
- Track, identify, and apply for relevant state and central government grants, schemes, and subsidies aimed at empowerment of persons with disabilities (PwDs).
- Navigate the bureaucratic documentation process, ensuring flawless compliance with national and regional grant guidelines.
3. Private Donations & High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs)
- Develop and execute strategies to acquire, retain, and upgrade retail (individual) donors and HNI partners in Mumbai.
- Build a local network of patrons, ambassadors, and philanthropic community leaders.
4. Campaign Design & Execution (Online & Offline)
- Online Campaigns: Design and lead digital crowdfunding campaigns, social media donation drives, and email marketing appeals.
- Offline Campaigns: Organize high-visibility fundraising events, charity galas, community drives, and corporate payroll giving programs in Mumbai.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create persuasive collateral, impact stories, and promotional materials.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), NGO Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of proven experience in fundraising, corporate business development, or sales, preferably within the Indian NGO ecosystem.
- Track Record: Demonstrated success in securing corporate CSR partnerships, writing successful grant proposals, or executing large crowdfunding campaigns.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Indian CSR landscape (Companies Act, 2013), FCRA regulations, 80G/12A tax certifications, and fundraising compliance.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent Communication: Exceptional written and spoken English, with strong persuasive pitching and presentation skills. Proficiency in Hindi or Marathi is a major advantage.
- Relationship Building: Natural networking skills with the ability to comfortably interface with C-suite executives, government officials, and individual donors.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with digital crowdfunding platforms (e.g., Milaap, Ketto, GiveIndia), social media algorithms, and donor management CRMs.
- Passion for Inclusion: A genuine empathy for individuals with visual impairments and a fierce drive to create equal opportunities for blind students.
