Role Description This remote internship role as a Fundraiser focuses on supporting Varma's Trust in securing financial and in-kind contributions to sustain its programs. Day-to-day tasks include researching potential donors and partners, preparing outreach lists, and assisting in drafting emails, proposals, and campaign materials. The intern will help manage fundraising campaigns on digital platforms, track responses, and maintain organized records of donor communication and contributions. Responsibilities also include collaborating with the team to develop engaging stories and updates that highlight the trust's impact, and supporting virtual events or drives as needed. This is an internship role designed to provide meaningful experience in non-profit fundraising while contributing directly to the mission.

Qualifications

• Fundraising and outreach skills, including donor research, campaign support, and basic proposal writing.
• Communication skills, including clear written communication, professional email etiquette, and the ability to present information effectively.
• Organizational and planning skills, such as maintaining accurate records, managing timelines, and coordinating tasks across remote teams.
• Digital literacy, including comfort with online collaboration tools, spreadsheets or simple databases, and social media or basic digital promotion.
• Demonstrated interest in non-profit work, social impact, education, or community support initiatives.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, take initiative, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Relevant coursework or experience in fields such as social work, development studies, communications, business, or related areas is beneficial.
