In this role, you will work closely with OEM customers, project teams, and cross-functional engineering stakeholders to drive ISO 21448 and ISO 26262-compliant safety activities, develop key safety work products, and support successful project delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement.

  • Review design and development artifacts to identify safety risks and define appropriate mitigation plans.
  • Drive core functional safety and SOTIF lifecycle activities, including hazard analysis and risk assessment, safety planning, concept development, requirements engineering, verification, validation, and safety analysis.
  • Engage and influence customer-side program and engineering stakeholders to align on safety expectations and project deliverables.
  • Support customer visits, project status reviews, and reporting activities, while contributing to project acquisition discussions.
  • Support the establishment of DIA, safety plans, safety concepts, FMEDA, hardware and software safety requirements, safety assessments, and safety audits for new projects.
  • Coach, mentor, and support project teams on functional safety methods, processes, and best practices.

What We're Looking For

  • 6-10 years of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably within the ADAS domain.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 21448 (SOTIF) and ISO 26262, with hands-on experience applying safety processes and developing key safety work products.
  • Proven experience in developing functional safety, technical safety, and SOTIF-related requirements at the system, hardware, and software levels.
  • Hands-on experience performing safety analyses such as HARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, and DFA.
  • Strong experience in managing the safety lifecycle, including safety planning, concept development, evaluation, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience supporting safety assessments, safety audits, DIA activities, and safety plan establishment for new projects.
  • Strong customer-facing experience, including OEM interfacing, project reviews, reporting, and acquisition support.
  • Ability to engage and influence customer-side stakeholders, including program and engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, training, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with related automotive standards and development frameworks such as ISO 21434, ASPICE, and broader ADAS verification and validation practices.
  • Familiarity with Safe AI automotive standard of ISO 8800
  • Exposure to advanced technologies, including GenAI, to support automation in safety methods and engineering processes.
  • Relevant functional safety or SOTIF training, certifications, or assessment experience would be an advantage.
