Job Description

Job Title: Senior Associate - Functional QA / Software Testing

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Associate - Functional QA with 3-5 years of experience in software testing. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in manual/functional testing, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand business requirements, functional specifications, and translate them into detailed test scenarios and test cases
  • Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing to ensure application quality
  • Execute test cases, log defects, and track them through resolution using standard defect management tools
  • Participate in test planning, estimation, and execution activities across releases
  • Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production validation activities
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC and Agile processes, including sprint ceremonies and reporting
  • Maintain test documentation including test plans, test cases, and test results aligned to project standards

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Functional / Manual Testing
  • Strong knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC methodologies
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Test case design and execution
    • Defect management and reporting
    • Test data preparation and validation
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Exposure to testing tools such as JIRA, ALM, or similar tools (based on typical internal practices)
  • Basic understanding of:
    • SQL / Database testing
    • API testing concepts (preferred but not mandatory)

  • Attention to detail and ability to identify edge cases
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Good to Have

  • Experience in Financial Services domain
  • Exposure to test automation concepts
  • Understanding of CI/CD or DevOps processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
