Job Description

Role Overview

The Application Manager will be responsible for the end‑to‑end ownership of a sales‑operated digital and mobile application that supports sales‑assisted journeys such as pre‑sales, customer onboarding, proposal creation, and servicing. The role will work closely with Sales, Operations, IT teams, and external vendors to drive application enhancements, ensure platform stability, manage cloud operations on Microsoft Azure, and enable strong adoption by front‑line sales users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the application roadmap, backlog, and enhancements for a sales‑operated digital and mobile platform (mobile APK and web).
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications and prioritize delivery based on business value and user impact.
  • Manage application delivery using Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall methodologies, as appropriate.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate the end‑to‑end application lifecycle including development, testing, releases, and post‑production support.
  • Oversee application hosting and operations on Microsoft Azure, ensuring performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage vendors and internal IT teams, track SLAs, and ensure timely resolution of issues and change requests.
  • Work with business stakeholders to continuously improve user experience and adoption for sales users.
  • Ensure security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance, especially for customer and sales data.

Required Skills

  • Experience managing sales‑facing mobile and web applications in a business‑critical environment.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud (App Services, APIs, Functions, Storage, PaaS databases).
  • Working knowledge of Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall development methodologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with project and agile management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, system integrations, and cloud‑based architectures.
  • Exposure to Life Insurance or Financial Services domain and sales/onboarding journeys is preferred.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 10–14 years of experience in application management, digital delivery, or product ownership roles
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Computer Science / IT / MCA or equivalent
  • Azure or Agile certifications are a plus

Following System Exposure Preferred –

  1. Customer Onboarding Systems
  2. Integrations with regulators – EKYC+ CKYC + CIBIL + VABWC + Penny Drop
  3. Document Management System – Newgen or OpenText
  4. Familiarity with RECON financial system
  5. API integrations & RPA ( Automation Anywhere etc)
  6. Cloud – Azure capability
  7. Understandings of DR /BCP ( application replication tools)

Nice to Have:

  1. Exposure in AI & Agentic AI tools
