Job Description
We are looking for a Functional Business Analyst with strong experience in the Insurance and Reinsurance (Specialty) domain. The ideal candidate should be able to work closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams to understand business needs, analyze requirements, and translate them into clear functional specifications.
The candidate will act as a bridge between business and delivery teams, ensuring that business requirements are accurately captured and aligned with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Owners, business users, and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Conduct requirement elicitation workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process discussions.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional requirement documents (FRDs), business requirement documents (BRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Analyze and document existing (As-Is) and future-state (To-Be) business processes.
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and development/testing teams.
- Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and requirement clarification sessions.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, coordinating business validation, and obtaining stakeholder sign-off.
- Assist in change management, impact analysis, and business process improvements.
- Ensure all functional documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Business Analysis and Requirement Gathering.
- Good understanding of the Insurance and Reinsurance (Specialty) domain.
- Experience preparing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Ability to understand business processes and recommend process improvements.
- Experience working with Product Owners and business stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in policy administration, underwriting, claims, or reinsurance processes.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Experience supporting UAT and business process documentation.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence is an advantage.
