Responsibilities: - Own module boundaries, state/data flow, rendering strategy, and extensibility. - Drive the frontend roadmap through RFCs and architecture reviews, balancing speed-to-market with long-term maintainability. - Own frontend performance across large documents, long sessions, and memory usage. - Set the bar for testing, CI quality gates, observability, and release reliability to ensure a zero-regression culture. - Partner closely with Design, Product, and Backend teams on key tradeoffs, API design, and distributed systems. - Mentor engineers and raise the frontend engineering craft across the organisation through code reviews and technical workshops. Requirements: - 10+ years of professional experience building large-scale web applications. - 2-4 years owning frontend architecture and technical strategy. - Deep Technical Expertise: Mastery of React and TypeScript for complex, high-performance UIs. - Complex UI Experience: Proven track record building large editors or complex UI systems (canvas, node-based editors, multi-pane layouts, or timelines). - State Architecture Mastery: Deep experience with modern state management (e. g., Zustand, Recoil, Jotai, Redux) and reactive programming. - Performance Optimisation: Proven ability to optimise web applications under real-world conditions (memory management, rendering bottlenecks).
