hoichoi is India's leading Bengali OTT platform, the digital arm of SVF, Eastern India's largest media & entertainment company. We stream 650+ Bengali movies, 185+ originals, and 3000+ hours of content to an audience of 250 million Bengalis worldwide. We're part of the wider SVF ecosystem alongside Sooper (AI-led micro-drama OTT) and LoglineAI (AI-native creative studio), and we're on a mission to entertain everyone in their native language.

The Role

hoichoi's platforms need someone who can take a feature from idea to shipped, not just style a component someone else architected. You'll own frontend-heavy features end-to-end — the interface, the state, and the lightweight API layer behind it.

The ideal person has strong fundamentals (JS, CSS, HTML5) underneath the React/Tailwind/TypeScript work, ships fast using AI coding tools by default, and is genuinely comfortable owning both sides of the stack rather than waiting on a backend handoff.

What you'll do

• Build and own frontend-heavy features end-to-end across hoichoi's web platforms, from component to API.
• Write clean, maintainable React + TypeScript code, using Tailwind and component libraries like ShadCN and MUI to ship fast without reinventing UI primitives.
• Partner with design to translate mockups into production-quality, responsive interfaces across devices.
• Build and maintain the lightweight backend/API layer your frontend features depend on.
• Improve the performance, accessibility, and polish of existing hoichoi surfaces.
• Work closely with product and content teams to ship features that directly touch hoichoi's 250 million-strong Bengali audience.
• Default to AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) to ship faster, with a clear sense of when to trust and when to override what they generate.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Solid JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals.
• Strong CSS and HTML5 — you can build pixel-accurate, responsive UI without leaning entirely on a framework.
• Hands-on React JS experience, including component architecture and state management.
• Practical experience with Tailwind CSS.
• Experience working with component libraries — specifically ShadCN and MUI.
• Fullstack comfort — able to build and consume APIs, not just consume them.
• Frontend pixel perfect finesse with responsive design across platforms.
• Default user of AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) on real shipped features, with at least one example where AI generated significant code you debugged or overrode.

Good-to-Have

• Experience with Next.js or a similar React framework.
• Familiarity with design systems and Figma-to-code workflows.
• Testing experience (unit or e2e) in a production frontend codebase.
• Familiarity with TV first components is a plus
