Fullstack Developer Intern

Numatix is seeking a driven and talented Fullstack Developer Intern with strong skills in Next.js, React.js, TanStack, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, Express, FastAPI, ORM frameworks, Python, Rust, and C++ (highly preferred).

This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work on high-performance UI, scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and production-grade applications.

You will collaborate closely with our engineering and product teams to build visually stunning interfaces, real-time graphing systems, analysis dashboards, and lightning-fast backend services that power mission-critical trading and analytics applications.

This three-month, fully remote internship offers hands-on experience in building scalable fullstack systems, designing high-performance APIs, working with modern frameworks, and contributing to the development of our upcoming strategy marketplace and internal platforms.

Key Responsibilities
Frontend Development

• Build beautiful, responsive, and high-performance UI screens using Next.js, React.js, TanStack, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.

• Develop advanced graphing and visualization tools for analytics and trading systems.

• Work with designers to transform concepts into clean, elegant, interactive user experiences.

• Optimize rendering performance for real-time data applications.

Backend Engineering

• Build and maintain high-speed backend services using Node.js, Express, FastAPI, and relevant ORMs.

• Develop data ingestion and transformation pipelines capable of handling large volumes of real-time data.

• Implement GraphQL APIs for seamless integration with broker connectors and internal systems.

• Contribute to building scalable, production-grade backend modules.

Systems & Performance

• Work with Python, Rust, or C++ to build low-latency system components (highly preferred).

• Optimize backend workflows, caching, and data flow for performance-sensitive environments.

• Contribute to the company's core technology stack and long-term architectural decisions.

Requirements

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree (or working toward one) in STEM, Statistics, Econometrics, or Quantitative Finance.

• Fullstack Fundamentals: Strong understanding of React, Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend + backend development workflows.

• Backend Proficiency: Solid grasp of Node.js, Express, FastAPI, API design, and working with ORMs for database operations.

• Systems Engineering Interest: Strong willingness to learn or work with Python, Rust, and C++, especially for performance-critical systems and data pipelines.

• UI & Performance Mindset: A passion for building fast, beautiful, and high-performance interfaces, including graphing dashboards and analytics screens.

• Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to break down complex UI/UX and backend architectural challenges and build efficient, reusable, scalable solutions.

• Technical Curiosity: Eagerness to explore advanced topics such as server components, state management patterns, optimization techniques, concurrency, GraphQL, and real-time data systems.

• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a rapid development environment, iterating quickly, and handling both frontend and backend responsibilities.

• Communication: Ability to clearly articulate design, architectural, and technical decisions within the team.
  
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with charting and visualization libraries (Recharts, D3.js, ECharts, Plotly, TradingView charts, etc.)

• Familiarity with design systems, component abstractions, and scalable UI architecture
  

• Understanding of API integration, WebSockets, and data fetching patterns using TanStack Query

• Exposure to Next.js App Router, Server Actions, and modern React features

• Experience building or integrating GraphQL APIs
  

• Basic understanding of microservices, caching, or high-speed data pipelines

• Knowledge of Rust or C++ for low-latency systems is highly preferred

• Understanding of UX principles, responsive design, and UI performance profiling
