Job Description

Job Description – Full Stack Software Engineer (Map Visualization & Routing)

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Full Stack Software Engineer who can work across both frontend and backend development.

The engineer will bridge backend data pipelines and routing services with intuitive map-based user interfaces. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of UI/UX along with strong backend engineering and API development skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Map-Based WebApp & Visualization

  • Design and develop responsive, high-performance map-based WebApps.
  • Build interfaces to compare route travel times and analyze regional delivery distribution.
  • Integrate mapping services such as:
  • Google Maps / Google Routes API
  • OneMap
  • OpenStreetMap
  • MapLibre
  • Mapbox GL
  • Leaflet
  • Implement route overlays, polygon labeling, map layers, and geographical statistics.
  • Ensure complex geographical information is presented in a clean and uncluttered UI.

2. Data Pipelines & Backend Services

  • Build and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and clean data from:
  • BigQuery
  • PostgreSQL
  • MongoDB
  • Excel
  • CSV
  • Implement data validation and automated data-quality checks.
  • Ensure data is accurate and ready for simulations and analysis.
  • Develop backend APIs using Python and FastAPI.
  • Provide routing and simulation results to the frontend visualization layer.

3. Route Optimization Deployment

  • Support Data Scientists in deploying and running route optimization simulations.
  • Containerize applications and workloads using Docker.
  • Debug backend, API, integration, and runtime issues.
  • Support workload-rebalancing simulations.
  • Assist with deployment and performance testing of optimization workloads.

Note: Candidates do not need advanced mathematical knowledge of route optimization algorithms.

4. AI-Assisted Development & Quality

  • Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Hermes.
  • Review and validate AI-generated code before production use.
  • Maintain strong coding standards across frontend and backend.
  • Implement TypeScript/Python typing, automated testing, linting, and CI/CD.
  • Prevent regression and low-quality AI-generated code through proper engineering practices.
  • Maintain API documentation and technical documentation.

5. Secure Remote Delivery

  • Work exclusively through a secure VDI / jump-host environment.
  • Follow strict zero-data-egress policies.

Technical Requirements

Frontend – Must Have

  • TypeScript
  • ReactJS or Svelte
  • Experience with map/geospatial visualization.
  • Experience with one or more:
  • Google Maps / Google Routes API
  • OpenStreetMap
  • OneMap
  • MapLibre
  • Mapbox GL
  • Leaflet

Backend – Must Have

  • Strong Python development experience.
  • FastAPI / REST API development.
  • Experience with:
  • PostgreSQL
  • BigQuery
  • MongoDB
  • Docker / containerization
  • Backend API integration and debugging.

Data & Testing

  • Experience building ETL/data pipelines.
  • Experience handling tabular and/or spatial datasets.
  • Data validation and quality checks.
  • Automated testing for frontend and backend applications.
  • Experience with type checking, linting, and regression testing.

AI Development

  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as:
  • Claude Code
  • OpenAI Codex
  • Hermes
  • Similar AI development tools
  • Ability to critically review, test, and improve AI-generated code.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with NVIDIA GPU environments.
  • Experience with NVIDIA cuOpt.
  • Route optimization experience.
  • Logistics, fleet management, transportation, or supply-chain technology experience.
  • Experience with geospatial or GIS platforms.
  • Experience with workload optimization or simulation platforms.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a pragmatic full-stack builder who can:

  • Work comfortably across frontend and backend.
  • Build intuitive and modern map-based interfaces.
  • Handle multiple data sources and data structures.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and data pipelines.
  • Work effectively with Data Scientists.
  • Use AI coding tools productively while critically validating the generated code.
  • Maintain strong testing and engineering standards.

1. Mapping WebApp

A responsive WebApp for:

  • Geospatial delivery visualization
  • Interactive route comparison
  • Polygon labeling
  • Workload visualization
  • Geographical statistics

2. Backend APIs & Data Pipelines

  • End-to-end data ingestion pipelines.
  • Data validation and transformation.
  • FastAPI services serving route and simulation data.

3. Model Serving & Deployment
