Full-Stack Shopify Engineer

Location: Bengaluru (in-office) · Type: Full-time · Experience: 2–5 years overall, 1+ year hands-on with Shopify

You'll own our Shopify storefront end to end theme, custom apps and integrations. You're the technical authority on our performance, checkout, features, and the tooling that keeps operations running. You'll work directly with marketing, ops, and design, and ship independently with minimal oversight.

• Theme development: Build and maintain our Shopify theme (Liquid, JavaScript, CSS, Online Store 2.0 sections/blocks) with strong responsive design and Core Web Vitals discipline
• Apps & integrations: Design custom Shopify apps using the Admin Graph QL API, Storefront API and webhooks (Node.js or similar backend) as well as integrate payment gateways, shipping/logistics, ERP/inventory tools. 
• Checkout customization: Extend checkout and post-purchase flows using Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensibility.
• Site reliability: Own performance, uptime, instrument analytics to debug production issues quickly.
• Operations automation: Automate workflows (order processing, inventory sync, catalog updates) via Shopify Flow.
• Tech strategy: Evaluate build-vs-buy for new features and manage the app stack pragmatically.

1. 1+ years shipping production Shopify work: (Liquid) and API-based development, not just app configuration.
2. Strong JavaScript/TypeScript with solid HTML/CSS fundamentals
3. Backend experience (Node.js, Ruby, or Python) building services, handling webhooks, working with REST and Graph QL.
4. Deep Shopify platform knowledge in Admin API, Storefront API, metafields/metaobjects and app architecture.
5. Git-based workflow and CI basics.

• Shopify Functions, Checkout UI Extensions, or Hydrogen/headless experience
• Experience at a D2C brand or e-commerce agency
• A performance optimization track record (Lighthouse/CWV improvements you can point to)
• Familiarity with analytics stacks (GA4, server-side tracking) and A/B testing tools
