Job Description

Full-Stack Robotics Engineer (Sensors, Autonomy & Embedded Systems)

Work Location: Bangalore (On-site)

Experience: 2–3 years

About Inkers

Inkers Technology is based in Bengaluru with offices in USA and UAE. We specialise in designing and developing deep large-scale AI and ML solutions for the Construction Industry. With a focus on AI, computer vision, and deep neural networks, we have extended our capabilities into the construction industry with our innovative AI-powered construction management solution, Kael — an AI project manager that predicts delays, flags risks, automates reporting, and prevents cost overruns with real-time construction intelligence. Our hardware platform, Observance, uses LiDAR scanning, thermal imaging, and AI-powered analysis to deliver BIM Models, deviation detection, and as-built intelligence. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of technology across diverse sectors.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Full-Stack Robotics Engineer who can take a robotic or sensor system from a blank sheet to a working product. You will work across the whole stack: mechanical design, electronics and firmware, and robot software (ROS, navigation and p

erception). If you have built a real robot or sensor platform from the ground up and love debugging it in the field, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

•Design & build: Take hardware products from concept to prototype to production, integrating multiple sensors such as LiDAR, cameras and IMUs.

•Robot software: Develop and maintain ROS/ROS2 nodes in C++ and Python, including navigation, path planning, localisation and sensor-driver integration.

•Electronics & firmware: Design and bring up interfaces and sensor boards using UART, I2C, SPI and microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32 or similar); write and debug embedded code.

•Mechanical design: Create 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; select materials and components; work with vendors on fabrication.

•Integration & testing: Bridge hardware and software, run field trials, and find the root cause of issues across mechanical, electrical and software layers.

•Collaboration: Work with the AI, computer vision and software teams to turn product requirements into robust, scalable systems that perform in real-world site conditions.

•Ownership: Document designs, own technical decisions for your subsystem, and help shape the future of our product line.

Required Qualifications

•Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on work in robotics, autonomous systems, sensors or automation.

•Built from scratch: Has designed and built at least one complete product or system end to end (robot, scanner, AGV/AMR, sensor rig or similar) and can explain every design decision.

•ROS & C++: Strong working experience with ROS/ROS2 and C++; comfortable with Python.

•Navigation: Practical knowledge of path planning and the ROS Navigation Stack (Nav2/move_base), including mapping and localisation.

•Electronics: Solid understanding of electronic components and circuits; working knowledge of UART, I2C and microcontroller platforms such as Arduino.

•Mechanical CAD: Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for part design, assemblies and drawings.

•Education: B.E./B.Tech in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science or a related field.

•Mindset: A sharp problem-solver who digs into root causes, learns new tools quickly and works independently.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience with multi-sensor systems (LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, thermal) and sensor calibration or time synchronisation.

•Hands-on SLAM or registration-based mapping pipelines.

•Background in autonomous vehicles, warehouse automation, AMR/AGV, drones or sensor-motor control.

•PCB design (KiCad, Altium or Eagle), 3D printing/prototyping, and design-for-manufacturing exposure.

•Embedded Linux, Jetson or Raspberry Pi-class platforms, and CAN/SPI/Ethernet protocols.

•A portfolio, GitHub, demo videos or shipped products to show your work.

Why Join Us

•Work on cutting-edge LiDAR, thermal and IMU scanning hardware used on real construction sites.

•Own subsystems end to end and see your designs get built, tested and deployed.

•Be part of a fast-growing team and grow towards a technical leadership role.
