Role purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Software Engineer to join our Unite team. You will be a key contributor to our technology platform which embraces the latest approaches to effective product engineering, including microservices, monorepo, serverless and continuous deployment. Day-to-day you will work within a small, self-managed team (2-5 people) focused on delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced, agile environment. This role emphasizes autonomy, collaboration, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Self-Management & Task Prioritization: Independently manage and prioritize your own tasks, aligning with team goals and project objectives. Maintain a personal task list and effectively manage your time to meet deliverables.

• Active Participation in Team Processes: Engage fully in daily team meetings, utilizing screen-sharing and presentations to communicate updates, clarify priorities, and collaborate on solutions. Actively participate in bi-weekly team demos to showcase progress, discuss challenges, and present plans.

• Proactive Communication & Collaboration: Clearly communicate progress, potential roadblocks, and adjusted timelines to the team. Seek validation and feedback from tech leads and senior team members to ensure alignment with project expectations. Iterate on work progress with team members, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

• Embrace Change & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to evolving project requirements. Proactively adjust work plans and deliverables as needed to meet changing priorities and contribute to achieving project goals.

• Effective Handoff Planning: Prepare thorough handoff documentation and delegate tasks effectively when planning time off, ensuring seamless continuity of work within the team. Utilize Core Tools: Leverage Microsoft Teams for communication, Figma for design, and GitHub for code, documentation, and optional issue tracking. While issue tracking in GitHub is available, personal task management can be maintained using any preferred method
