Job Description

Kiran Jewels India is hiring a Full Stack Developer to build and run the software that runs our business.

We are a jewelry manufacturing company with an in-house product team. We do not buy off-the-shelf tools and bend our operations around them. We build our own, covering inventory, retail operations, HR, and AI-assisted workflows. Everything you write goes into production and gets used by real teams every day. You will not hand your code to a separate ops team. You build it, you ship it, you keep it running.

What you will do

  • Build and ship web applications end to end, from data model to interface
  • Design relational schemas, write secure REST APIs, and own the auth layer
  • Develop responsive, performant frontends in a modern component framework
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, from commit through automated testing to deploy
  • Handle deployment, environment configuration, logging, monitoring, and incident response
  • Enforce data security practices across the stack, from database to browser
  • Integrate LLM APIs into real product features such as search, extraction, and assisted data entry
  • Sit with operations, stock, and HR teams to turn messy real-world workflows into working software

Application development

  • A modern JavaScript frontend framework, React preferred, with solid TypeScript fundamentals
  • A backend language and framework, Python or Node based
  • REST API design, versioning, error handling, and clear API contracts
  • Relational database design, indexing, migrations, and query optimisation, PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Caching and background job processing

Authentication and access control

  • Session and token-based auth, JWT lifecycle, refresh token rotation, and secure logout
  • Password hashing and credential storage done correctly, never in plaintext, never reversible
  • Role-based access control and permission modelling for multi-role internal systems
  • Multi-factor authentication and SSO or OAuth integration
  • Protecting every endpoint, not just the login screen, and enforcing authorisation server side

Data security

  • Encryption in transit and at rest, TLS configuration, and certificate management
  • Secrets management, environment separation, and never committing credentials to a repository
  • Input validation, parameterised queries, and defence against SQL injection, XSS, and CSRF
  • Rate limiting, request throttling, and abuse protection on public-facing endpoints
  • Audit logging, access trails, and the ability to answer who changed what and when
  • Secure file upload and storage handling, including access-controlled object storage
  • Dependency scanning and timely patching of known vulnerabilities
  • Backup strategy, restore testing, and data retention discipline
  • Awareness of India's DPDP Act obligations around personal and employee data

CI/CD

  • Git branching strategy, pull requests, and code review as normal practice
  • Automated pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent
  • Automated testing in the pipeline, unit and integration, with linting and type checks as gates
  • Build artifacts, containerisation with Docker, and reproducible builds
  • Separate development, staging, and production environments with promotion between them
  • Database migration handling as part of deploy, not as a manual afterthought
  • Rollback strategy and safe release practices

Deployment and operations

  • Deploying to cloud infrastructure or self-managed servers, comfortable on Linux
  • Reverse proxy and web server configuration, Nginx or similar
  • Container orchestration basics
  • Application monitoring, structured logging, error tracking, and uptime alerting
  • Performance profiling and debugging issues in a live environment
  • Basic infrastructure-as-code and configuration management

On AI tooling

We expect you to use AI coding assistants and use them well. That means reviewing, refactoring, and taking responsibility for what they produce. Our only rule is that you ship code you can explain and defend, especially anything touching auth or data security.

Who this suits

  • 1 to 3 years of full stack experience, or project work that clearly demonstrates the same ability
  • Someone who treats security and reliability as part of the build, not a phase at the end
  • Someone who takes ownership, works independently, and communicates clearly about progress and blockers
  • Degree optional. Shipped work counts more.

Why this role

  • Most developer jobs at this level mean one ticket, one screen, one small corner of a large codebase. Here you own systems outright, including how they are secured and how they are deployed. You will touch inventory, retail, HR, and AI tooling within your first year, and you will get direct mentorship on architecture, security, and system design along the way.
