Full Stack Engineer Intern

Role Description This is a remote internship role for a Full Stack Engineer Intern at Laneway. The intern will assist in designing, developing, and testing web applications and digital products across both front-end and back-end components. Day-to-day responsibilities may include implementing UI features, building and integrating APIs, working with databases, and supporting the deployment and maintenance of scalable solutions. The intern will collaborate with consultants, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical implementations, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance. The role also involves learning and applying best practices in code quality, documentation, and version control while contributing to innovation on client and internal projects.

Qualifications

• Foundational skills in front-end development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern framework such as React or Vue).
• Basic back-end development skills (e.g., Node.js, Python, or similar; understanding of RESTful APIs and server-side frameworks).
• Experience or coursework with databases (SQL or NoSQL), data modeling, and simple query optimization.
• Familiarity with version control and collaborative development workflows (e.g., Git, GitHub or similar tools).
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to real-world business and product challenges.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail in writing and reviewing code.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work remotely in a distributed, cross-functional team.
• Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Interest in business consulting, startups, and building scalable technology solutions; prior project or internship experience is a plus.
