About the Role
We are looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in Node.js who is eager to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems. In this role, you'll work closely with the tech lead, contribute to core backend development, optimize performance, and be a key part of shaping the product's technical foundation.
This role is perfect for someone with 35 years of hands-on backend experience who enjoys solving complex problems and taking ownership of features end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain backend services using Node.js and related frameworks.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs that integrate with internal and external systems.
- Work with message queues like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS for asynchronous processing.
- Design efficient database schemas and queries for MySQL and MongoDB.
- Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and DevOps teams for smooth feature delivery.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following best engineering practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to root cause analysis.
Required Skills
- 35 years of experience in backend development using Node.js.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, and REST API development.
- Experience with MySQL and MongoDB including indexing and query optimization.
- Working knowledge of message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS).
- Understanding of microservices or modular service architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Git, version control workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to debug issues quickly and write efficient, scalable code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good to Have
- Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch).
- Exposure to serverless architecture or cloud-native systems.
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React.js) for integration context.
- Understanding of chatbot systems or conversational workflows.
