Job Summary
We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer (Back End & Azure Integration) with strong expertise in Azure-first back-end development and system integrations. The role involves designing and building scalable REST APIs, implementing secure Azure integrations, and ensuring high reliability, observability, and performance across cloud-native services.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with C# .NET or Node.js, deep knowledge of Azure services (App Service, Functions, API Management), and the ability to work closely with data engineering and platform teams in an enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Back-End & API Development (Azure-First)
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services and REST APIs using Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and container-based Azure services.
- Implement secure and resilient integrations using Azure API Management, including routing, policies, authentication, and throttling.
- Ensure enterprise-grade standards for security, scalability, performance, and cloud-native architecture.
- Build robust error handling, logging, and observability using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
Integration & Data Flow Engineering
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to design and implement data-driven API integrations, ensuring payloads, mappings, and behavior meet requirements.
- Integrate with internal and external systems using Azure-native authentication mechanisms, including Managed Identity and Azure AD.
- Develop asynchronous, event-driven integrations using Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, or Event Hub.
- Validate end-to-end integration flows, ensuring correct data processing, transformation, and persistence.
Collaboration with Data Engineering
- Translate data mapping and integration specifications into API logic and back-end processing.
- Maintain clear separation between API and data layers following Azure design patterns.
- Support data pipeline testing by providing API mocks, triggers, and back-end interfaces.
Cloud, DevOps & Deployment
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployments using Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates.
- Deploy and manage services across Azure environments, including:
- Azure App Service
- Azure Functions
- Azure API Management
- Azure Key Vault
- Azure Storage / ADLS
- Azure Monitor & Application Insights
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues using Azure-native diagnostics and monitoring tools.
Monitoring, Reliability & Operational Readiness
- Implement health checks, telemetry, and operational dashboards using Application Insights, Azure Dashboards, and Log Analytics.
- Configure Azure-native monitoring solutions and ensure operational readiness.
- Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements such as resilience, performance, security, and auditability.
Engineering Quality & Delivery
- Write clean, secure, and maintainable code following best engineering practices.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and operations teams to refine requirements and improve platform design.
- Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong back-end development experience using C# .NET, Node.js, or similar server-side technologies.
- Proven experience building and integrating REST APIs on Azure App Service or Azure Functions.
- Hands-on experience with Azure API Management, including policies, routing, and authentication.
- Solid understanding of Azure identity and security, including Managed Identity and Azure AD.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases, including Azure SQL or cloud-hosted equivalents.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Azure DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with Application Insights, Log Analytics, and Azure Monitor.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Desirable / Good to Have
- Experience with Azure messaging services (Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hub).
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Bicep, Terraform, ARM).
- Familiarity with React or similar front-end frameworks for internal tools or dashboards.
- Experience building operational dashboards or service health interfaces.
- Background in Financial Services, Fraud, AML, or Financial Crime platforms.
