Full Stack Developer (React JS & Java)

About the role

You will join an agile product team to design, build and maintain secure, high-availability web applications used by millions of users.

The role covers the full stack: responsive front ends in React JS and robust back-end services in Java and Spring Boot, deployed on cloud infrastructure under government security and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain end-to-end web applications using React JS (front end) and Java / Spring Boot (back end).
Build reusable, accessible and responsive UI components, following government digital service and accessibility standards (WCAG).
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices, including integration with internal and external government systems.
Design and optimise relational database schemas and queries (e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Write clean, testable code with unit and integration tests (JUnit, Jest, React Testing Library).
Apply secure coding practices and remediate findings from code scans, VAPT and security reviews.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments on cloud (AWS / Government Commercial Cloud).
Work in Agile/Scrum teams with product owners, business analysts, UX designers and QA, take part in sprint planning, code reviews and demos.
Troubleshoot production issues, support UAT and releases, and prepare technical documentation.

Requirements

Must have

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on full stack development experience.
Strong front-end skills in React JS, JavaScript (ES6+) / TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 and state management (Redux or Context API).
Strong back-end skills in Java 11+ and Spring Boot, building RESTful APIs and microservices.
Solid SQL and relational database experience.
Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar) and automated testing.
Understanding of secure coding (OWASP Top 10) and authentication standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSO).
Experience delivering in Agile/Scrum teams.

Good to have

Prior experience on Singapore public sector or GovTech projects, including IM8 compliance.
Experience with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with messaging or caching tools (Kafka, Redis) and API gateways.
