Full Stack Developer

Description

We are looking for a highly versatile Full-Stack Engineer who is equally comfortable writing application code and deploying that code to cloud infrastructure. This role bridges product development and platform engineering - you will build features in Python and JavaScript while also helping manage AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and runtime environments. You'll partner closely with the development team to deliver performant web apps, and with operations/security stakeholders to ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys both hands-on coding and owning how software runs in the real world.

Core Responsibilities

Software Development

• Build and maintain backend services (Python and/or Node.js)
• Develop modern web front-ends using Next.js or similar frameworks
• Design, build, and document RESTful APIs and integrations
• Write maintainable code with appropriate unit/integration test coverage

DevOps & Platform

• Own CI/CD for application deployments (GitHub Actions & GitLab CI)
• Manage cloud infrastructure in AWS (EC2/ECS/Lambda/RDS/S3/CloudFront)
• Contribute to IaC using Terraform
• Improve environment reliability, monitoring, and automation
• Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work directly with product owners and stakeholders to define requirements
• Translate business needs into resilient and scalable technical solutions
• Mentor junior contributors and elevate development best practices

Required Experience

• 4+ years professional development experience (full-stack or backend-focused)
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or Node.js
• Experience deploying and operating workloads on AWS
• Hands-on experience with Docker and cloud-native app hosting
• Solid understanding of Linux, networking fundamentals, and DevOps culture
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred)
• CI/CD configuration and troubleshooting experience

Preferred Skills

• Distributed systems / microservices architecture
• Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Database administration (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
• Security-minded engineering (IAM, Secrets Mgmt, Zero Trust principles)
• Serverless patterns (Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge)
• Experience supporting regulated or enterprise platforms

• Own the delivery pipeline for at least one core product
• Reduce deployment friction and time-to-production
• Improve uptime and observability across environments
• Ship new functionality independently and confidently
