Full Stack Engineer

Stealth mode startup is looking for a versatile Full Stack Engineer to join our product development team. You'll build end-to-end features spanning from elegant user interfaces to robust backend systems, working with modern frameworks like React and Next.js while contributing to the full application lifecycle while leveraging AI-powered development tools to maximize productivity and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain full stack features using React and Next.js on the frontend with Node.js or Python backends

- Leverage AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and solve complex problems efficiently

- Build responsive, performant, and accessible user interfaces with modern React patterns (hooks, context, custom components)

- Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate them seamlessly with frontend applications

- Optimize application performance on both client and server side, including code splitting, lazy loading, and caching strategies

- Work with databases (SQL and NoSQL) to design schemas, write efficient queries, and manage data flows

- Implement server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) with Next.js for optimal SEO and performance

- Write comprehensive tests across the stack including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests

- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features from concept to deployment

- Participate in the full development lifecycle including planning, code reviews, deployment, and monitoring

Required Qualifications

- 24 years of professional full stack development experience

- Strong proficiency in React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript

- Hands-on experience with Next.js including App Router, server components, and API routes

- Demonstrated ability to effectively use AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar assistants to enhance productivity

- Solid understanding of frontend fundamentals: HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and web accessibility

- Experience with backend development using Node.js OR Python

- Proficiency with at least one backend framework (Express.js, Nest JS, Fast API, Django, or Flask)

- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL)

- Familiarity with state management solutions (React Context, Redux, Zustand, or similar)

- Understanding of RESTful API design and integration patterns

- Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with TypeScript in production applications

- Knowledge of modern CSS frameworks and solutions (Tailwind CSS, CSS Modules, styled-components)

- Familiarity with GraphQL and tools like Apollo Client or React Query/TanStack Query

- Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Cypress)

- Understanding of containerization and cloud platforms (Docker, AWS, Vercel, Google Cloud)

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes

- Experience with monorepo tools (Turborepo, Nx)

- Familiarity with Web3, PWAs, or other emerging web technologies

- Understanding of performance monitoring tools (Lighthouse, Web Vitals, Sentry)

- Experience with design systems and component libraries

- Active GitHub profile or portfolio showcasing full stack projects
