Full-Stack Android Developer — Equity-Based Founding Role

We are looking for a Full-Stack Android Developer who can take ownership of Kefilo's Android application and the backend systems powering it.

This is an equity-based founding-team opportunity for someone who wants to build the product from an early stage and take long-term technical ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Android Application Development
• Build and maintain Kefilo's Android application.
• Develop smooth, reliable and scalable mobile experiences.
• Implement onboarding, assessments, subscriptions, food programs, wellness tracking and customer journeys.
• Backend Development
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs and business logic.
• Design and manage databases, authentication and user-management systems.
• Develop scalable architecture to support growing users and products.
• Nutrition Intelligence Integration
• Integrate Kefilo's Nutrition Intelligence Engine into the application.
• Support personalised nutrition recommendations, food plans, transformation programs and intelligent decision-making.
• Work with Data Scientists and Nutritionists to convert intelligence frameworks into usable product features.
• Customer & Transformation Journey
• Build workflows covering onboarding → assessment → personalisation → subscription → food/nutrition delivery → fitness/wellness tracking → progress.
• Implement personalised dashboards, recommendations, reminders and progress reports.
• Support engagement, compliance and retention features.
• FoodTech & Product Integration
• Build technology for food/product discovery, ordering and subscription management where required.
• Integrate product, meal, recipe and nutritional databases.
• Support future intelligent food manufacturing and FoodTech systems.
• APIs & Third-Party Integrations
• Integrate payment gateways, communication services and other third-party APIs.
• Support future integration with wearables, health devices and external data sources.
• Build reliable data synchronisation systems.
• Performance, Security & Scalability
• Optimise Android application performance and reliability.
• Implement appropriate security and privacy practices for customer and health-related data.
• Build systems capable of scaling with Kefilo's growth.
• Testing & Deployment
• Debug, test and continuously improve the application.
• Manage Android releases, backend deployments and technical documentation.
• Establish clean development practices and maintainable code.
• Product Collaboration
• Work closely with Product, Nutrition, Data Science, FoodTech, UI/UX and Operations teams.
• Translate business and nutrition requirements into functional technology solutions.
• Participate in product testing, user feedback and continuous improvement.
  

Ideal Candidate

• Strong experience in Android application development.
• Experience with Kotlin/Java and Android development frameworks.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, backend systems and databases.
• Experience with technologies such as Kotlin, Android SDK, Firebase, Node.js/Python, SQL/NoSQL and cloud platforms is preferred.
• Experience building consumer-facing applications is an advantage.
• Experience with subscription, payment, e-commerce, health, wellness, nutrition or data-driven products is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset.
• Comfortable working in an early-stage startup with ambiguity and rapidly changing requirements.
  
  

Engagement

• Position: Full-Stack Android Developer
• Nature: Equity-Based Founding Role
• Time Commitment: Part-time, approximately 20–25 hours/week
• Location: Remote / Hybrid
• Compensation: Equity-based; no fixed salary at the current stage
• Fixed compensation: Planned after fundraising and revenue stabilisation
• Equity: Based on technical expertise, contribution, responsibility, commitment and long-term ownership
• Vesting: 5-year vesting for core founding members
  
  

What You Will Build

You will help build the technology backbone of Kefilo's personalised nutrition and wellness ecosystem — connecting customers, Nutrition Intelligence, food products, subscriptions, transformation programs, data and future FoodTech systems through a single scalable platform.

This role is suited for someone who wants to move beyond writing code and become a long-term technology owner within the founding team.
