About Tequity
We're an applied AI product development company - not an agency, not a dev shop. We build AI products end-to-end for US startups, from idea to product-market fit. 50+ AI products shipped, 25+ active clients, backed by YC/Sequoia/a16z portfolio companies.
We work with a specific type of founder: 0-to-1, pre-seed to Series A, building something that matters. Our job is to be their product team until they can build one themselves.
We're growing fast. We need one person who can own how we reach those founders.
The Role
This is not a run campaigns and report back role. You'll own lead generation end-to-end - strategy, execution, iteration - working directly with the founder.
Our thesis: 1-2 exceptional marketers who deeply understand our audience and are AI-native can outperform a team of 8. We're hiring for that person.
You'll be responsible for building a repeatable MQL engine across email, LinkedIn, content, and whatever else actually works.
What You'll Own
• Outbound email - sequences, segmentation, copy, deliverability, iteration
• LinkedIn - founder's personal brand content, company page, targeted outreach
• Content - thought leadership, case studies, newsletters - written for founders, not SEO bots
• Campaign performance - you read the numbers, you form the hypothesis, you run the test
• Lead pipeline - MQL quality, volume, and conversion handoff to founder
Requirements
What We're Looking For
Non-negotiables:
• 5+ years in B2B marketing, with meaningful time spent in outbound/demand gen
• Truly AI-native - you use AI tools as a multiplier, not a novelty. You've already replaced what 3 people used to do
• You've marketed to startup founders or early-stage tech companies before. You understand how they think, what they ignore, and what makes them click
• You write well. Not just clear - genuinely good. Sharp, direct, no fluff
• You have design taste. You don't need to use Figma professionally, but you know good from bad and can brief/direct accordingly
• You're comfortable owning a number - MQLs, reply rates, pipeline contribution
Highly preferred:
• Experience with tools like Clay, Apollo, Instantly, HubSpot, Lemlist, or equivalents
• Familiarity with the US startup ecosystem - funding stages, GTM motions, what founders actually care about
• You've built something from scratch - a content channel, an outbound system, a newsletter - not just inherited and maintained
• Experience working directly with a founder or in a very small team (no hand-holding structure)
What This Is Not
• A team lead role. There's no team yet - you're building the function.
• A brand/comms role. You care about pipeline, not just awareness.
• A managed role. You'll get context, direction, and founder time - not a playbook handed to you.
Compensation
Competitive, based on experience. Performance component tied to MQL targets.
