Job Description

Company Description

Cosentus is building AI-native healthcare technology for the U.S. healthcare market, with a focus on revenue cycle management, medical coding, claims automation, denial workflows, payment operations, document intelligence, and healthcare process automation.

We are working on systems where AI is not just a feature added on top of software, but part of the core workflow: reading healthcare documents, extracting clinical and billing information, reasoning over coding and payer rules, validating outputs, learning from feedback, and helping operations teams work with greater speed, accuracy, and transparency.

Role Description

We are hiring a Full-Stack AI / LLM Engineer to help build and improve AI-native healthcare workflows at Cosentus.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to work on real-world AI systems beyond chatbots, demos, and prompt wrappers. You will help build AI workflows that support medical coding, claim review, denial analysis, document extraction, validation, and automation for healthcare operations in the U.S.

The position requires a mix of AI engineering, full-stack development, cloud knowledge, and strong product thinking. You should be comfortable working across LLMs, backend systems, databases, APIs, AWS services, and user-facing product workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build AI-native workflows using LLMs, agents, RAG, embeddings, structured outputs, and evaluation systems
  • Work on healthcare document intelligence, including extraction, classification, validation, and review workflows
  • Develop AI systems for medical coding, claims, denials, payment workflows, and revenue cycle automation
  • Integrate LLMs with databases, APIs, backend services, and cloud infrastructure
  • Build validation layers, guardrails, audit trails, and feedback loops for AI-generated outputs
  • Improve AI accuracy through testing, real-world feedback, evaluations, and measurable quality checks
  • Work with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Bedrock, and related infrastructure
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, healthcare operations, and domain experts to turn complex workflows into reliable AI-powered systems
  • Help design AI systems that are explainable, auditable, and suitable for healthcare use cases

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of professional experience
  • Strong full-stack engineering foundation
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI workflows, agents, RAG, embeddings, structured outputs, or AI evaluation pipelines
  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
  • Backend experience with APIs, databases, serverless functions, queues, or workflow systems
  • Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, React, or Next.js is preferred
  • Ability to build production-ready systems, not just prototypes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in complex, domain-heavy workflows
  • Clear communication and ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams

Nice to Have

  • Healthcare technology experience
  • Revenue cycle management, medical coding, claims, EHR, billing, or denial-management experience
  • Experience with HIPAA-aware or regulated software environments
  • Experience with OCR, document AI, healthcare data extraction, or clinical-document workflows
  • Experience with AWS Bedrock, pgvector, Aurora PostgreSQL, or serverless architecture

  • Why This Role Is Interesting

This is an opportunity to build AI systems for one of the most complex and important industries: healthcare.

You will work on AI that can understand documents, reason over healthcare rules, support coding decisions, detect errors, validate outputs, and improve through real operational feedback. The work has direct impact on healthcare administration, financial workflows, and operational efficiency.

If you want to build serious AI infrastructure for healthcare, this role is a strong fit.
