Purpose of the role

General Mills is seeking a Global Trade compliance FTA Analyst based out of our Mumbai, India office to be part of our Global Trade team for businesses in EU-AU. Key accountabilities include managing FTA qualification, HS classification, LTSD and USMCA solicitation, ensuring global trade compliance through audits, reporting, commodity code review, and BOM maintenance, while collaborating with global stakeholders to support Free Trade Agreement programs and preferential duty treatment initiatives for General Mills.


As part of the General Mills Finance team, you will have the opportunity to lead and influence the business of one of the world's most recognized FMCG companies, while working with some of the world's most popular brands. This is an exciting early career opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong sense of ownership and quick learning capabilities. You will gain functional experience in Global Trade processes, expertise in trade compliance systems and tools, as well as broader knowledge of Free Trade Agreements, import/export compliance, and global trade operations.

Key Accountabilities


A)Support global trade compliance activities and Free Trade Agreement programs global

Support global trade compliance activities and Free Trade Agreement programs globally.

Support Free Trade Agreement (FTA) programs to ensure business and regulatory compliance.

Determine product eligibility for trade agreements through HS classification, solicitation, and Bill of material review.

Manage LTSD creation and coordinate preferential origin certificate requests with suppliers and ESC teams.

Review and maintain trade compliance documentation, records, and material analysis.

Support annual FTA and USMCA projects including timelines, milestones, and stakeholder coordination.

(B)Trade Data Management

Support Global trade data accuracy through HS Classification and other compliance-related fields.

Execute LTSD campaign activities including validation, compliance checks, and document recordkeeping.

Conduct monthly shipment audits across EU-AU to ensure compliance and data accuracy.

(C)Compliance Management

Support export controls, check embargo, and licensing activities in coordination with importing countries.

Identify importers and exporters that may pose potential business or regulatory compliance risks.

20% of Time: Supportinternal/external business partners

Partner with Global Trade teams on HS classification, BOM review and analysis, and process-related activities to support compliance and operational efficiency.

Partner with sourcing teams to expedite LTSD solicitation and completion processes.

10% of Time: Continuous Improvement

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and reporting efficiency.

Lead efforts to understand what's working, what isn't and lead plans to adjust approach on One Team culture

Minimum Qualifications:

Full Time graduation from an accredited university in BS/BA/B.COM

Systems experience in SAP & E2Open Trade Automation

Three-five years directly working in import/export compliance (TBC).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's/master's degree

Major Area of Study/Experience: Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain Management

Specific job experience or skills needed

Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements (FTA), HS Classification, Customs Duties, and global trade compliance processes.

Strong English communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Ability to work independently while proactively seeking support when required.

Good understanding of systems, processes, and compliance-oriented workflows.

Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative mindset.

Passion for learning, continuous improvement, and adapting to new processes and ways of working
