What do you need for this opportunity

Must have skills required:

Figma fluency (reading, building, and iterating on screens, not just viewing)

Translating Figma designs into pixel-accurate, responsive frontend code

React (hooks, state management, component architecture)

Next.js or equivalent modern frontend framework

HTML, CSS, and Tailwind (or equivalent utility-first styling)

TypeScript or strong JavaScript fundamentals

REST API integration (auth headers, error handling, loading and empty states)

Working knowledge of how to read backend API contracts and wire them up correctly

Frontend Engineer Intern

The Role

As Frontend Engineer Intern at Renate, you build the product end-to-end on the frontend. This is not a convert mocks to code seat. You will design screens in Figma, build them in code, wire them to live backend APIs, and ship features that real clients use the same week you ship them. You own the screen from idea to production, including making sure every API call, edge case, loading state, and error state actually works. You report directly to the founder.

Your Impact

Build and iterate on Figma screens for new features alongside the product and founder

Translate those screens into pixel-accurate, responsive, production-ready frontend code

Wire up backend APIs end-to-end, including auth, headers, loading states, error states, and empty states

Catch and handle every edge case before the user does, so features behave exactly as expected

Ship features to production through proper Git workflows, with clean commits and reviewable PRs

Collaborate with backend and AI engineers to align on API contracts, data shapes, and timelines

Maintain frontend code quality, performance, and accessibility as the product scales

Feed UX and product signals back to the team so the next iteration is sharper than the last

What You Bring

Genuine end-to-end ability, where you have built and shipped something real that you can demo, not just completed tutorials

Comfort moving fluidly between Figma and code, without needing a designer to hand-hold the visual side

Working understanding of React, Next.js (or equivalent), and modern frontend tooling

Confidence integrating REST APIs and handling real-world failure modes

A high-taste eye for UI quality, spacing, typography, and interaction polish

High ownership, high speed, and comfort with ambiguity

Ability to track your own work and ship without being chased

Mumbai-based or willing to relocate immediately

Nice to Have

A portfolio, personal site, or shipped project that demonstrates both design and engineering chops

Exposure to component libraries like shadcn/ui, Radix, or Chakra

Familiarity with animation libraries (Framer Motion) and micro-interaction design

Experience working with tRPC, GraphQL, or typed API clients

Understanding of recruitment, HR tech, or B2B SaaS UX patterns

Prior internship, freelance, or hackathon work where you shipped to real users
