We're hiring a Frontend Architect to own the frontend architecture behind a complex, high-performance product. This is a hands-on role where you set technical direction while actively buildingbalancing long-term architecture with day-to-day execution.
What You'll Do:
- Define and evolve frontend architecture: module boundaries, state/data flow, rendering strategy, extensibility.
- Lead technical direction through RFCs and architecture reviews.
- Own frontend performance across large documents, long sessions, and memory usage.
- Establish standards for testing, CI quality gates, observability, and release reliability.
- Partner closely with Design, Product, and Backend on key tradeoffs.
- Mentor engineers and raise the frontend bar across the org.
Must-Have Requirements:
- 1012+ years building large-scale web apps, including 35+ years owning frontend architecture.
- Deep expertise in React and TypeScript for complex, high-performance UIs.
- Experience building large editors or complex UI systems (canvas, multi-pane layouts, timelines, heavy lists).
- Strong state architecture experience (Recoil, Zustand, Jotai, Redux, or similar).
- Proven track record of performance optimization in real-world conditions.
- Experience partnering on API design and distributed systems tradeoffs.
- Ownership of frontend architecture, build tooling, testing strategy, and observability at scale.
