Position Description

Angular Frontend Developer / Frontend Technical Owner Application: Marketing Program System 2 (MPS2)

• We are looking for an experienced Senior Angular Frontend Developer to serve as the technical owner and frontend gatekeeper for the MPS2 platform.
• The application is a large enterprise Angular system (900+ TypeScript files, 120+ routes) developed by multiple contributors over time.
• The primary objective is to lead the structural modernization of this codebase: decomposing a monolithic root module into domain-driven lazy-loaded feature modules, establishing reusable UI components, remediating architectural tech debt, enforcing robust quality gates, and standardizing patterns to prepare the application for AI-assisted SDLC workflows.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Refactoring & Modularization: Progressively decompose the oversized root module (AppModule) and routing configuration into clean, domain-driven, lazy-loaded feature modules (e.g., Programme Authoring, Payments, Vehicle Inquiry, Batch Runs).
• Enforce clear boundaries between Core, Shared, and Feature layers, eliminating boundary leaks (such as direct HttpClient calls in UI components).
• UI/UX Standardization & Reusable Components: Design, build, and maintain a centralized library of reusable UI components and shared layout/form patterns.
• Standardize UI styling, design tokens, and user flows across disparate screens created by different contributors.
• Reactive Stream & State Management Governance: Overhaul RxJS subscription handling across 150+ components—introducing strict teardown patterns (takeUntilDestroyed, DestroyRef, async pipe) to eliminate memory leaks.
• Rationalize state management and transition away from scattered, ad-hoc localStorage/sessionStorage dependencies toward predictable reactive services.
• Code Quality, Standards & Gatekeeping: Serve as the frontend gatekeeper by conducting rigorous PR reviews for contributions made by other engineers.
• Establish and enforce strict linting, TypeScript typing, and naming conventions to clean up multi-author drift and folder anomalies.
• Activate meaningful unit test baselines (Jasmine/Karma), restoring automated test coverage and CI build/lint validation gates.
• AI-SDLC Enablement: Clean, standardize, and document coding patterns and component templates to allow effective adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools across the team.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 5 to 8 years of professional frontend development, with at least 4+ years dedicated to modern Angular (Angular 14+, Angular 17 strongly preferred) and TypeScript.
• Large-Scale Architecture: Demonstrated experience restructuring large monolithic Angular codebases into lazy-loaded feature modules and core/shared libraries.
• RxJS Mastery: Advanced command of RxJS operators, observable lifecycle management, leak prevention, and change detection optimization (ChangeDetectionStrategy.OnPush).
• Design Systems & Component Design: Hands-on experience building modular, reusable component systems, accessible forms (Reactive Forms), and scalable SCSS structures.
• Quality & Testing: Strong proficiency in writing robust unit tests using Angular TestBed, Jasmine, and Karma, along with configuring ESLint/Stylelint rules.
• Engineering Discipline: Strong PR review etiquette, technical leadership, and clear communication skills to guide and mentor non-frontend-focused developers.
• Nice to Have Experience migrating legacy module-based Angular architectures to modern Standalone Components and Signals.
• Familiarity with enterprise automotive, incentive, or program management business workflows.
• Experience integrating frontend test/lint gates into enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
