Job Overview
We are looking for a passionate and motivated
SOC Analyst L1 (Fresher) to join our cybersecurity team. This role is ideal for candidates who have a strong foundational understanding of
Security Operations Center (SOC) processes and
Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT) concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SOC tools
- Perform initial analysis and triage of security incidents
- Escalate incidents to L2/L3 teams as required
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and basic penetration testing activities
- Analyze logs from multiple sources (SIEM, firewalls, endpoints, etc.)
- Maintain proper documentation of incidents and responses
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for incident handling
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of SOC operations and incident response lifecycle
- Basic knowledge of VAPT concepts and tools
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (like Splunk, QRadar – academic knowledge is fine)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.)
- Knowledge of common cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Freshers or up to 1 year of relevant internship/training experience
- Certifications like CEH, Security+, or similar (preferred but not mandatory)
Soft Skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in rotational shifts (24/7 SOC environment)
Nice To Have
- Hands-on practice in labs like TryHackMe / Hack The Box
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash)
