Job description:
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Freight Broker to coordinate and manage the transportation of goods by connecting shippers with reliable carriers. The ideal candidate has strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of logistics operations, and the ability to build long-term relationships with both clients and carriers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements
- Coordinate freight movement and ensure timely pickup and delivery
- Track shipments and resolve any transportation issues or delays
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, rates, and communications
- Monitor market trends and adjust pricing strategies accordingly
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies
- Provide excellent customer service and ongoing account support
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Freight Broker, Logistics Coordinator, or similar role
- Strong negotiation, sales, and communication skills
- Knowledge of freight modes (FTL, LTL, intermodal, etc.)
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with TMS software and Microsoft Office
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent; logistics or business education is an asset
