We are looking for a Freelance Textile Colour Consultant & Colourist with an exceptional eye for colour to help us build and curate colour palettes for our range of dyeable fabrics.
This is a part-time, on-site freelance role in Mumbai, with the potential to develop into a long-term association.
The RoleYou will be responsible for helping Glanz develop the right colour direction for our dyeable fabric collection.
This is a highly creative role for someone who can look at a fabric and immediately understand which colours will make it look beautiful, relevant, premium and commercially desirable.
You will work closely with our procurement and product development team to develop colour palettes, colourways and dyeing directions across different fabrics and fibres.
Key Responsibilities- Develop colour palettes for Glanz's dyeable fabric collections.
- Recommend colours based on the fabric, fibre, construction, texture, finish and end use.
- Develop seasonal and evergreen colour stories for different fabric categories.
- Identify missing or commercially relevant colours within our existing collection.
- Recommend colours that feel contemporary, sophisticated and premium.
- Create colourways and coordinated colour combinations across fabrics.
- Work with Pantone references, particularly Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors / TCX, where appropriate.
- Review and guide colour development through lab dips and physical fabric samples.
- Evaluate how colours behave differently across fibres and fabric constructions.
- Communicate colour directions and specifications clearly to suppliers and dyeing partners.
- Research fashion and textile colour trends and translate them into commercially relevant fabric colours.
- Help develop and maintain a structured Glanz Colour Library.
- Collaborate with the procurement and creative teams on new fabric developments and collections.
We are looking for someone with an exceptional natural sense of colour.
The ideal candidate will have:

- A strong understanding of colour theory and colour relationships.
- Excellent visual judgement and an eye for sophisticated, premium colour combinations.
- Understanding of how dyes and colours behave across different fibres and fabric constructions.
- Experience working with Pantone / textile colour standards.
- Understanding of lab dips and colour approval processes.
- Awareness of current and emerging fashion and textile colour trends.

We are more interested in your colour eye and textile understanding than your degree or job title.
ImportantThis is not a conventional graphic design role.
We are specifically looking for someone who understands colour on real fabric, not just colour on a screen.
You should be able to look at a fabric swatch and answer:
