Freelance Storage Validation Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Storage Validation Engineer to support a large-scale cloud hardware environment.

This role focuses on storage validation, lab support, and light automation, ideal for candidates with strong exposure to HDD/SSD testing and performance benchmarking along with scripting and reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities

Storage Validation & Testing

• Validate storage devices (HDD & SSD) in lab environments

• Execute performance testing and benchmarking tools

• Analyze and report storage performance results

Lab & Operations Support

• Assist in lab management and hardware tracking

• Support procurement processes (PO tracking, ordering systems like MyOrder / ULOB)

• Maintain inventory and test environment readiness

Automation & Reporting

• Develop Python scripts for automation of validation tasks

• Build dashboards and reporting tools using Power BI / Power Apps

• Improve efficiency of validation workflows

Required Skills (Mandatory)

• Strong experience in HDD & SSD storage validation

• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools

• Python scripting for automation

• Experience with Power BI and/or Power Apps

• Exposure to lab environments and hardware validation

Nice to Have

• Experience with procurement tools / operations

• Knowledge of C / C++

• Exposure to large-scale cloud infrastructure environments

• Work on enterprise-grade cloud hardware systems

• Hands-on exposure to storage validation at scale
