Freelance Python FastAPI Developer

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer with strong expertise in FastAPI to support a remote, part-time engagement.

Required Technical Stack

• Python – Strong hands-on experience
• FastAPI – API development and backend services
• Pydantic – Data validation and schema management
• Redis – Caching and runtime controls
• Prometheus & OpenTelemetry – Metrics, tracing, and observability
• Splunk – Logging and monitoring
• Harness – CI/CD and deployment
• OpenShift / OCP – Containerized application deployment
• GCP – Exposure is a plus / future platform
• GitHub – Repository and source-code management
• Experience working with separate CI and CD repositories
• GitHub Copilot – AI-assisted development experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Build robust validation and schemas using Pydantic
• Implement caching and runtime controls using Redis
• Integrate application metrics, tracing, and observability
• Support logging and monitoring through Splunk
• Work with Harness for deployment and CI/CD workflows
• Deploy and troubleshoot applications on OpenShift/OCP
• Collaborate across separate CI and CD repositories
• Contribute to future migration or deployment initiatives involving GCP

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Python
• Hands-on experience building APIs with FastAPI
• Good understanding of backend architecture and API development
• Experience with Redis, observability, logging, and monitoring
• Exposure to OpenShift/OCP and deployment pipelines
• Good Git/repository management practices
• Ability to work independently in a part-time remote environment
