Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Freelance Photo Editor with strong retouching expertise. The ideal candidate must be proficient in high-end product retouching, fashion/skin retouching, and interior photo editing while maintaining a consistent visual style across projects.
You should have a sharp eye for detail, strong understanding of lighting, textures, and colour accuracy, and the ability to deliver high-quality edits within timelines. Experience in adapting visuals for social media and digital platforms will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Editing & High-End Retouching
Process RAW files and perform detailed retouching including:
- Colour correction and tonal balance
- Skin retouching while maintaining natural texture
- Cleaning backgrounds and removing distractions
- Product shine control and reflection corrections
- Maintaining a natural look while enhancing image quality
Product Retouching
- Remove dust, scratches, and imperfections
- Ensure accurate colours and material textures
- Enhance surfaces like fabric, metal, glass, jewellery, and lifestyle products
- Refine lighting, reflections, and shadows
- Maintain brand-specific product tones and consistency
Fashion Retouching
- Maintain realistic skin tones and texture
- Correct colour casts and lighting inconsistencies
- Refine garments, wrinkles, and small imperfections
- Ensure the final image feels polished yet natural
Interior Photo Editing
- Correct perspective distortion and vertical alignment
- Balance interior and exterior lighting through window pulls
- Improve exposure balance, colour temperature, and shadow recovery
- Remove unwanted elements, clutter, or distractions
- Enhance space aesthetics while maintaining realism
Consistency Checks
Ensure all edited images follow brand guidelines and maintain visual consistency across shoots, campaigns, catalogues, and lookbooks.
Organised File Handling
- Maintain proper file naming conventions
- Follow structured folder organisation
- Maintain RAW backups and working files
- Deliver final exports as per studio workflow guidelines
Social Media Adaptation
- Prepare images for Instagram, websites, and digital platforms
- Export files in platform-specific dimensions and formats
- Ensure visuals align with current social media aesthetics
Communication & Revisions
- Coordinate with the senior photographer and studio team
- Incorporate feedback and revisions efficiently
- Maintain clear communication and timely deliveries
Requirements
- Proven experience as a photo editor / retoucher (portfolio required)
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom
- Excellent understanding of colour theory, skin tones, textures, product detailing, and interior lighting correction
- Ability to maintain quality and speed under tight deadlines
- Strong sense of visual aesthetics and brand consistency
- Familiarity with exporting images for web, print, and social media
- Reliable communication and professional work ethic
Experience: Minimum 3 years of retouching/editing experience required
Compensation
Payment will be per image, based on the scope and complexity of retouching work (product, fashion, or interior edits).
