Job Description

Flexing It is a freelance consulting marketplace that connects freelancers and independent consultants with organisations seeking independent talent.

Flexing It has partnered with Our client, is an ecological restoration and creative arts initiative rooted in community and is looking to engage with People & Operations Lead (HR).

Key Responsibilities:

1. People & Team Management

-Conduct regular check-ins to ensure team alignment, performance, and wellbeing

-Act as the primary point of contact for employee concerns and conflict resolution

-Drive onboarding and offboarding processes seamlessly

-Maintain a strong pulse on team morale and engagement

2. Contracts & Compliance

-Draft, review, and manage employment contracts and consultant agreements

-Lead compensation discussions aligned with internal frameworks

-Ensure adherence to HR policies, documentation, and compliance standards

3. Operations & Process Management

-Build and streamline internal workflows and reporting structures

-Maintain employee records, compensation data, and documentation systems

-Support leadership in workforce planning and organizational structuring

4. Hiring & Talent Management

-Manage end-to-end recruitment coordination with external partners

-Screen candidates for role fit and cultural alignment

-Oversee offer rollouts and joining processes

5. Culture & Organizational Development

-Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and creativity

-Support initiatives that strengthen community engagement and team cohesion

Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of HR operations and people management
  • Expertise in contract management and compensation negotiations
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • High level of discretion and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment
  • Strong organizational and process-oriented mindset
  • Alignment with sustainability, community-driven work, and creative ecosystems
  • Proficiency in HR tools and documentation systems
