Freelance Opportunity Senior Network Automation Engineer (OCI)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Automation Engineer to support large-scale Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in network engineering, automation, routing protocols, and Python development, with experience managing enterprise or cloud-scale network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Support the design, deployment, and operations of large-scale network infrastructure within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

✅ Participate in network lifecycle management, including network build, upgrades, migrations, and optimization projects

✅ Develop and execute network change procedures and operational runbooks

✅ Lead network automation initiatives and create scripts/tools to automate routine operational tasks

✅ Troubleshoot network incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and drive issue resolution

✅ Act as an escalation point for critical network events and production support activities

✅ Collaborate with project managers, architects, automation teams, and vendors to deliver network solutions

✅ Support firmware upgrades, software qualification, bug investigations, and vendor escalations

✅ Mentor junior engineers and contribute to network architecture and roadmap planning

Required Skills

✔ Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or large-scale cloud networking environments

✔ Deep understanding of network protocols including:

• BGP

• OSPF

• TCP/IP

• Routing & Switching

✔ Hands-on experience with:

• Network Automation

• Python Scripting

• Network Monitoring & Telemetry

• Network Performance Optimization

• Network Lifecycle Management

✔ Experience working with enterprise-grade network devices and cloud networking platforms

✔ Strong troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills

✔ Experience interacting with network vendors and supporting software/firmware upgrades

✔ Ability to lead technical projects and collaborate across global teams

Preferred Skills

⭐ Experience supporting hyperscale or cloud infrastructure environments

⭐ Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

⭐ Experience with Ansible, Terraform, NetBox, Git, CI/CD pipelines

⭐ Experience with network observability and telemetry platforms

⭐ Experience developing network automation frameworks
