Freelance Bilingual Checker

Editage, the flagship brand of CACTUS, provides translation services to help ESL (English-as-a-second-language) researchers communicate their science to the global scientific community. We are currently looking for skilled translators to work with us on a freelance basis.

Job description: We are seeking experienced proofreaders with strong attention to detail to review content that has been translated from source languages. The material includes both academic manuscripts and non-academic documents.

In this role, you will be responsible for crosschecking translations completed by senior translators to ensure the highest standards of quality. This includes verifying grammatical accuracy, eliminating typographical and formatting errors such as extra spaces or incorrect line breaks), and identifying any omissions. The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistency and clarity across diverse content types.

We have openings in the following language pairs:
Japanese English | Korean English | Simplified Chinese English | Traditional Chinese English

1. Identify and report any missing translation segments to the Project Management team.
2. Correct typographical and formatting errors as required.
3. Revise and improve grammar, sentence structure, and overall clarity in the translated content.

• Bachelor's degree in any specialization.

• Excellent written English skills and strong attention to detail.

• Five years of comprehensive professional experience in proofreading and reviewing.
