Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced AWS Network Development Engineer on a freelance basis to support large-scale cloud infrastructure operations.
This role requires strong expertise in network operations, troubleshooting, automation, and cloud-scale networking environments, with hands-on experience in AWS infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-shift network operations support for large-scale environments
- Diagnose and resolve critical network incidents and outages
- Support and maintain next-generation AWS network infrastructure
- Collaborate with Network Engineering & Deployment teams for operational readiness
- Drive event management, mitigation, and root cause analysis (RCA)
- Develop and improve monitoring, alerting, and detection mechanisms
- Troubleshoot network device configurations & interconnectivity issues
- Work on low-level networking protocols and application interactions
- Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripts and tools
- Engage with senior engineering teams to resolve complex issues
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of experience with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI Model)
- Strong experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in large-scale networking environments
- Expertise in protocols: DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL
- 4+ years experience in Linux/Unix environments
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Experience with scripting/programming in any of:
- Python
- Bash / Shell
- Perl / Ruby / Java / PHP
