Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Franchise Lawyer to join our legal team. The Franchise Lawyer will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing all franchise-related legal documents and agreements. The ideal candidate will ensure that all franchise operations comply with legal standards and regulations. This role involves close collaboration with the Franchise Manager and other departments to support the overall franchise development and management process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents:
* Prepare, review, and revise franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and other related contracts.
* Ensure that all legal documents are compliant with local, state, and federal franchise laws and regulations.
* Advise on the legal aspects of franchise disclosure documents (FDD).
2. Legal Compliance:
* Monitor changes in franchise laws and regulations and ensure that the company&aposs franchise operations comply with these changes.
* Provide legal guidance on compliance issues related to franchising.
3 Franchise Development Support:
* Collaborate with the Franchise Manager and other departments to support the development and expansion of the franchise network.
* Assist in the evaluation and selection of potential franchisees, ensuring legal criteria are met.
4. Dispute Resolution:
* Handle franchise-related disputes, negotiations, and mediations.
* Represent the company in legal proceedings related to franchising.
5. Training and Advising:
* Provide training and guidance to internal teams and franchisees on legal aspects of franchising.
* Serve as a legal advisor to the management team on franchise-related matters.
6. Document Management:
* Maintain accurate records of all franchise agreements and related documents.
* Ensure that all documentation is updated and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
* Licensed to practice law in India
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in franchise law or a related field.
* Strong understanding of franchise laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with a franchised business, preferably in the F&B Industry
* Certification in franchise law (e.g., Certified Franchise Executive - CFE).
