Fractional Controller (Full-time) – Remote

Aspire CFO is a Canadian firm providing market-leading financial services to small and mid-sized businesses. We implement robust, optimally designed, and scalable finance functions to position our clients for long-term success.

The Role:

We are seeking a hands-on, diligent and ambitious Controller to oversee the financial operations of multiple client companies. In this full-time role, you will lead accounting teams, implement scalable processes, and deliver accurate financial reporting that enables informed business decisions. You will work closely with senior CFO mentors to drive measurable improvements in both finance functions and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of bookkeepers.
  • Manage the automation and implementation of robust financial processes at multiple clients.
  • Ensure client books are closed accurately and completely monthly in accordance with customized financial close checklists at multiple clients.
  • Manage the payments process, payroll process, collections, and sales tax return filing processes at multiple clients.
  • Coordinate with auditors to ensure audits and review engagements are completed in a timely and smooth manner.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, budget to actual analyses, forecasts, and other financial analyses as required.
  • Support the CFO to prepare board materials as required.

Who You Are:

  • Formal Accounting Qualification, one of CA, CPA, CMA, or ACCA.
  • 7–10 years of progressive finance experience, including 3–5 years as a Controller.
  • Track record of redesigning and implementing efficiently designed finance functions leveraging automation.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to synthesize complex financial data for executive decision-making.
  • Ethical, dependable, and skilled in navigating complex financial and operational situations.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.

Compensation:

Fixed annual compensation: INR 36 LPA
