Qualification: M.Tech in VLSI Design / Embedded Systems / B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent.

Location: Hyderabad

This role is for a versatile, detail-oriented FPGA Engineer to work on embedded systems for satellite, airborne, and ground platforms. As a System's FPGA Engineer, you will be expected to bring a strong technical skill set in FPGA design, RTL coding, and hardware troubleshooting. Working in a dynamic, fast-paced development environment, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of FPGA-based systems, vali- dating data interfaces, and supporting payload operations for both satellite and airborne platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for identifying patterns in failures, possess strong debugging skills in FPGA and hardware systems, and demonstrate a determination to find and resolve root cause.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Understand CubeSat and Mini spacecraft system architectures, including payloads and FPGA subsystems.
  • Design, implement, and validate FPGA logic for high-reliability satellite and airborne systems.
  • Work with FPGA SoCs (e.g., Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+) and develop RTL modules using VHDL/Verilog.
  • Integrate and verify FPGA designs with embedded processors and software stacks.
  • Develop and execute simulation and hardware validation plans (ModelSim, Vivado, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot FPGA designs, debug hardware-software integration issues, and resolve anomalies observed during ground testing and on-orbit operations.
  • Support payload operations for satellite and airborne missions, including real-time fault diagnosis and resolution.

Essential Education and Experience:

  • Strong experience with FPGA design flow (Vivado, Quartus, or similar).
  • Expertise in RTL coding with VHDL/Verilog.
  • Experience with FPGA simulation tools (ModelSim, QuestaSim) and hardware debug- ging tools (ILA, Chipscope).
  • Experience in writing constraint files (XDC/Synopsys SDC) and achieving timing closure.
  • Hands-on experience in SoC-based FPGA designs (e.g., Xilinx Zynq/UltraScale+ MP- SoC).
  • Familiarity with Git-based version control systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with high-speed interfaces like AXI, DDR, Ethernet, PCIe, etc.
  • Knowledge of embedded C/C++ programming for FPGA-based processors (e.g., ARM Cortex-A cores).
  • Familiarity with RF systems, ADC/DAC interfaces, and high-speed data converters.
  • Experience working with embedded Linux environments on FPGA SOCs.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft payload operations, satellite telemetry, and command systems.
  • Knowledge of basic digital signal processing (FFT, filtering) is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Experience with hardware lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, spectrum analysers).
  • Exposure to space-grade FPGA design methodologies (fault tolerance, radiation hardening) is a plus.
