Role Overview

We are seeking an FPGA Design Lead Engineer with deep expertise in digital logic design and hands-on ownership of FPGA development, verification, and hardware validation. This role involves leading system-level FPGA design activities, high-speed interface integration, and embedded processor subsystem validation across complex hardware platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead FPGA architecture, design, and implementation using Verilog / SystemVerilog / VHDL
  • Own end-to-end FPGA development including RTL design, synthesis, timing closure, and validation
  • Drive functional verification and system-level hardware validation of FPGA designs
  • Lead integration and debug of high-speed interfaces and processor-based subsystems
  • Develop and review embedded firmware in C/C++ for FPGA-based systems
  • Work with ARM and RISC-V embedded processor platforms
  • Perform FPGA and board-level debug using lab instruments and on-chip debug tools
  • Guide scripting and automation activities using TCL / Perl
  • Collaborate with board design, firmware, and system teams during bring-up and integration
  • Provide technical guidance and reviews for FPGA design and validation activities

Required Skills & Experience

  • 815 years of hands-on experience in FPGA design, verification, and hardware validation
  • Strong foundation in digital logic design and system-level architecture
  • Advanced proficiency in Verilog / SystemVerilog / VHDL
  • Embedded firmware development experience using C/C++
  • Hands-on experience with ARM-based embedded processors
  • Working knowledge of high-speed and system interfaces, including:
    • PCIe Gen4 / Gen5
    • DDR
    • 10G Ethernet
    • USB 3.2
    • Processor-based subsystems
  • SERDES: Hands-on experience with PMA/PCS architecture and DFE
  • DDR: Experience with DDR memory interface bring-up and controller validation
  • SoC: Processor subsystem validation, peripheral interfaces, boot modes, and trace debug
  • Configuration & Security: Embedded system development and debug on RISC-V / ARM platforms
  • Strong hands-on experience with logic analyzers, ChipScope, and oscilloscopes
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using TCL / Perl
Education

  • B.E. / B.Tech or M.E. / M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or a related discipline
